Compression Molding
Compression molding is preferable when your part design is simple, and the material is rubber or similar materials. The mold of compression molding is composed of two plates without any complex movements or components. The benefit of adopting compression molding is the speed of production. It can produce a few dozen parts in one mold. The material is placed into the cavity of compress mold, and then the mold closes up to heat and compress the material to desired shape. Because there are multiple cavities in a compression mold, so the parts are all connected by flash after molding. It is necessary to cut off the flash and separate the parts afterwards.
